Five comic artists and five vetrans told their stories. Here you can see my graphic story, told by Willem Riepma, WW2 veteran.

Last week I have been busy with learning monotype printing. It has been a challenge, after many trials and errors these fellas came out quite alright I think.

Somehow i just couldn’t stop cutting out the random words from De Groene Amsterdammer magazine, and make new meaningful sentences. Im sorry, but you will have to learn dutch to understand the text, or use Google translate. ^^

“When in 1577 a huge comet appeared whose tail spread in a great arc across the sky, observers all over Europe, Tycho Brahe among them, made measurements of its changing positions. Im taking part of the Latvian legend book cover competition. This is a legend about a wolf who got fascinated by the music played on Kokle by some mysterieus young man, who fell into a wolves hole in the middle of the night!! Playing Kokle and singing, saved him from being eaten by this terrifying wolf. Listening to Kokle, made wolf turn absolutely mad. A plant you see, is a common plantain, and has been used for treating inflammation of the skin for ages. You can also wrap your fingers with it, if you have  plaed the strings all night long.

Last month me and my colleague Jeroen Funke where busy with a new project. We spent a whole november month as artist in residency at the Ruimte van Rolf gallery in Gouda. This is just one example of my drawings i made.
