Louis L. Harris Promoted to Chief Operating Officer at Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, Inc.

Harris brings more than 35 years of experience with success in the area of clinical and operational services for specialized populations.

Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, Inc., a leading visiting nurse service providing home healthcare, has announced that Dr. Louis L. Harris has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Harris brings more than 35 years of experience with success in the area of clinical and operational services for specialized populations.

Prior to being named COO, Harris served as Vice President of Clinical Operations and before that, he was the head of Physical Therapy at Dominican Sisters Family Health Service. In his new role, Harris will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and be primarily responsible for the administration of operations, establishment of performance goals and objectives, allocation of resources and assessment of DSFHS policy and procedures for the Facility, Senior Housing and Home Care.

Harris’ background also includes a position as Senior Administrator for Network Development and Planning at Burke Rehabilitation Center in White Plains, and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

A fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, Harris has presented several abstracts concerning management strategies and has published throughout his career. In 1993 and 2001, he was featured in Rehab Management magazine for his work both at Hospital for Special Surgery and Burke.

Dominican Sisters Family Health Service is a community-based Joint Commission Certified Home Health Agency providing home nursing care and health related services in the Greater New York Metro Area and Hudson Valley and Long Island.
