Queen Regina of Mist Haven is slowly losing hope that she will ever be able to marry for love. Almost every aspect of her life is controlled, especially when it comes to her friends and possible love interests. It also doesn't help that the media portrays her as an Evil Queen who only cares about herself, focused more on living lavishly than caring about her people. She finds the only men willing to date the Evil Queen are more interested in her crown than her. And then Robin Locksley becomes her new assistant and she believes in love at first sight, wondering if maybe her happy ending is possible after all.

Regina has a daughter with Robin Hood, Angelina Rose, but when Robin dies, she wants to do everything in her power to make sure nothing happens to her baby girl.
They're separated along the way after the dark curse. Instead of Storybrooke, Angelina ends up in the town of Boston, in a group home.
Emma, even before meeting Regina or coming to Storybrooke, finds a little girl alone, hiding in the corner of a building, a place she had just started visiting, because of a friend she knows.
Emma gets close with the young girl, and they soon end up in Storybrooke to find her Mama. That's when she meets Regina, and things start to change between Emma and Regina.
Not only does she thank Emma for finding her baby girl, but they begin to have a close bond that turns into love for each other.
Then, Regina has 2 people she loves the most.
