The Xiaomi Mi5 rumors / leaks are relentless, we’ve seen a ton of alleged Xiaomi Mi5 renders, images, cases, etc. The company is holding an event on January 15 in China and they confirmed that the new Xiaomi flagship will launch at that event. Naturally, everyone assumed that it will be either the Mi4S or the Mi5 considering the word “flagship” was used, several times, so we’ll go with that as well. Anyhow, a new alleged image of the phone appeared, so, let’s check it out.

If you take a look at the image above, you’ll see a really good looking device, which somewhat resembles one of the recent leaks. I’m not saying that these two are the same, the sensors / cutouts on the top are different, the logo in the upper left corner is positioned differently and it seems like they’re shaped a bit different, but they both look great. This leak is more believable than the first one though, although I still doubt this is company’s Mi5 handset. I’ll cross my fingers and hope it is though, the design just works for me, what about you?

The additional data, which came with this render, says that the phone features a 5.2-inch display and that it measures 140.89 x 71.4 x 6.1. This is believable, although most rumors, thus far, claim that the Mi5 will sport a 5.5, 5.7 or a 6-inch 1080p or QuadHD display. As you can see, these rumors are all over the place, we’re hearing a ton of different stuff and it’s hard to put things into perspective. 3 or 4GB of RAM were mentioned as well along with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 or 810 processor. The rumors also say that the device will sport a 16-megapixel camera on the back, and an 8-megapixel shooter on the front, while an IR blaster was also mentioned in the past.

I really do hope Xiaomi will launch this handset on January 15 and stop all these rumors because they’re out of control. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 got listed on Oppomart recently, and that handset could launch on January 15 as well considering it fits company’s latest teasers, but I do hope that Xiaomi intends to launch the Mi5 as well, because the word “flagship” doesn’t exactly describe the Redmi Note 2.
