He looks at his two nieces, his nephew, and his daughter and sighs. They all received the same letter. It will be the first time for Cora and Malia since they just turned 18 in human years. They seem to be more excited than the rest of them, which is understandable since it’s new to them.
The pods, that’s what they were invited to. The concept is simple: all single adults have to participate. For two whole weeks, sometimes more depending on the number of invitations, people are locked inside a room and have to meet other participants: speed dating like. But no participants can see who they're meeting.

The rumor among the Were-world was that something out there was killing werewolves, to the point it was getting harder to call it a rumor. Especially when it seemed to be crossing the country, leaving a wake of missing or dead Wolves. Especially when they all seemed to be Alpha’s.
One of the most inconvenient parts of this whole thing was that Peter Hale was now their Alpha and for the first time since she’s known him, she wasn’t actively fantasizing about his death. It would really suck if he died before she could figure out what that means.

In short, bad shit happened to Lydia as a child and preteen, resulting in a failed suicide attempt in middle school. These things will, at times, be alluded to or discussed, but none of it will be on page. Even if she has a flashback, it'll be vague (and warned about in chapter summary). On a larger scale, there is a human trafficking/pedophile ring and set of serial rapists in Beacon Hills that the Sheriff and FBI are trying to stop, but, again, nothing graphic happens on page except violence when our heroes step in to help law enforcement or rescue victims.
