PNoy not keen on seeking lower govt post after 2016

After ruling out the possibility of seeking another term, President Benigno Aquino III on Friday said he is not keen on running for a lower government post after he relinquishes his post in 2016.

"I would like to serve in another capacity other than elected office," Aquino said at a forum in Pasay City when asked about seeking another elected post after being president.

He added that his "foremost" concern when he ends his term is to "take a break."

Aquino further said he plans to return to his old house on Times Street in Quezon City.

"I would like to go back on my own bed, in my own house. I don't have to wake up so early. I can laze around," the President said.

Aquino's two predecessors—former Presidents Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo—sought lower government posts after their stints in Malacañang.
