This Is Where I Leave You review: Tina Fey tries to liven up contrived comedy drama

A top cast including Jason Bateman, Tiny Fey, Rose Byrne and Jane Fonda try hard to liven up This Is Where I Leave You, a comedy drama about a four siblings reunited at the family home following the death of their father.

Bateman is excellent as a married man whose comfortable life is imploding, Byrne is the teenage flame he reconnects with and Jane Fonda has fun as the siblings’ saucy, breast-enlarged mother.
However, it can’t quite shake off a sense of contrivance and lacks the requisite laughs and emotion.
