You mess with the Kobe, you get the Flea.

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea took to Twitter on Tuesday to issue a scathing critique of a recent ESPN article by Henry Abbott titled “Is Kobe Bryant the reason for the Los Angeles Lakers’ downfall?”

Smush Parker is a former Lakers player who has criticized Bryant in the past.

Flea is a diehard Lakers fan and has been a season-ticket holder for years, so I guess it’s understandable that he’d be sensitive about any article critical of Kobe Bryant. What I did not see coming in this story is that former Lakers coach and current Knicks President Phil Jackson would come flying in on Flea’s side in the argument.

“Go get ’em, Flea” is an absolutely wonderful thing to say, and something I hope we all get a chance to say at least once.
