Driving along a Nebraska road Wednesday night, Cornhuskers defensive end Jack Gangwish happened upon a raccoon. He thought it would be cool to take a picture with it.

So he got out of his car in hopes of luring the wild animal over for a selfie.

One problem. The raccoon was not down with this. He attacked Gangwish, biting his calf.

At this moment Gangwish knew the raccoon should probably be tested for rabies, so he decided to capture it. He grabbed a crescent wrench that he had “with the aim of subduing it,” according the the Lincoln Journal Star. Except it didn’t work out that way exactly.

“It was death by crescent wrench,” Gangwish said.

Gangwish later tweeted about the incident.

At least he got the selfie!

The raccoon is currently being tested for rabies.
